 Governor Malombe Leads Briefing on CLIDP Initiatives for FY 2024/2025. Thursday, 24 October, 2024. Kitui Governor Dr. Julius Malombe (EGH) today met with Sub-County, Ward and Village Administrators for a briefing on the forthcoming public participation on the Community Level Infrastructure Development Programme (CLIDP) as well as identification and prioritization of the Pro-poor Support Program's beneficiaries and sand dam sites for the financial year 2024/2025. The meeting also aimed to highlight the challenges faced in implementing the projects and discuss ways to overcome them. According to Governor Malombe, the County Government established CLIDP as one of its flagship initiatives in the FY2013/2014 in a bid to promote equitable development, alleviate poverty and improve the livelihoods of county residents.  So what is a  √CLIDP, √PRO-POOR   √SAND DAM ✓ CLIDP projects are designed to promote equitable development across all 40 wards and 247 villages in the County. These projects align with the 16-sector priorities for the development and transformation of Kitui, as set in  Hon.Alphonce Mukwayu-MCA & H.E  the Governor Dr. Julius Makau Malombe’s Manifesto. The public will identify and prioritize CLIDP projects during the public barazas. ✓✓ The Pro-poor initiative is a flagship program aimed at ensuring increased access, transition, and retention of learners, ultimately enhancing educational performance in the County. _Thursday, December 15, 2022_ The long-awaited vetting of Governor Julius Malombe’s CEC nominees by the County Assembly Committee on Appointments commenced today morning. Richard John Mwendandu, nominee for Energy, Environment/Climate Change Matters, Forestry Natural and Mineral Resources led the pack followed by Phoebe Ndunyu Mutemi for Culture, Gender, Youth, ICT, Sports and Social Services. Former Assembly leader of majority and Athi MCA Peter Mwikya Kilonzo “Tangawizi” later faced the approval hearing panel chaired by Speaker Kelvin Kinengo Katisya. He has been nominated to head the Finance, Economic Planning and Revenue Management docket.
