Governor Malombe Leads Briefing on CLIDP Initiatives for FY 2024/2025.

Thursday, 24 October, 2024.

Kitui Governor Dr. Julius Malombe (EGH) today met with Sub-County, Ward and Village Administrators for a briefing on the forthcoming public participation on the Community Level Infrastructure Development Programme (CLIDP) as well as identification and prioritization of the Pro-poor Support Program's beneficiaries and sand dam sites for the financial year 2024/2025.

The meeting also aimed to highlight the challenges faced in implementing the projects and discuss ways to overcome them.

According to Governor Malombe, the County Government established CLIDP as one of its flagship initiatives in the FY2013/2014 in a bid to promote equitable development, alleviate poverty and improve the livelihoods of county residents.

He noted that the programme contributes to key sectors including water, agriculture, health, roads, energy and education, in the effort to achieve "The Kitui Promise" transformative development agenda.

The FY2024/2025 CLIDP public participation will kick off with village barazas on Monday next week and proceed to the ward-level validation forums at the respective ward headquarters on Tuesday.

Today’s meeting took place at KEFRI in Kitui town.
